1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Ignition Now Inc. website and your engagement of the services provided by Ignition Now Inc. from its workshop at 1100 Meridian Rd Ne, CALGARY - T2A 2N9, Canada (CA). By accessing the website, submitting a form, booking a bench test, or leaving a vehicle or unit with us for inspection or repair, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the website or our services.

These terms apply to all visitors, customers, drivers, fleet managers, and any other person who interacts with our business. Where you act on behalf of a company or another person, you represent that you have authority to bind that party to these terms. Please read this document carefully before engaging our workshop.

The website is operated and maintained on behalf of Ignition Now Inc. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Ignition Now Inc. and should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.

2. Definitions Used in These Terms

In these terms, references to the Company, we, us, and our mean Ignition Now Inc. References to the website mean the pages published at our domain, including the homepage, the services page, the contact page, and any future pages we add. References to services mean the starter motor, alternator, ignition coil, battery and charging, key and switch, and fleet starting system work described on the website and carried out at our bench.

References to the customer, you, and your mean the person or business engaging our services or using the website. References to a unit mean any starter motor, alternator, ignition coil, battery, cable, switch, or related component left with us for testing, repair, or rebuild.

3. Description of Services

Ignition Now Inc. operates a dedicated starter and alternator test bench. Our services include starter motor rebuilds, alternator testing and repair, ignition coil diagnostics, battery and charging checks, key and switch replacement, and fleet starting system programs. Each service is described in more detail on the services page and in the pages of this website. We reserve the right to decline work that falls outside our scope or that we cannot safely or reliably perform.

The information on this website is provided for general information. It does not constitute a binding offer of service at any particular price or timeline. A binding arrangement is formed only when we accept a unit for work and confirm the scope, the estimated cost, and the expected completion time with you.

Because we operate a test bench rather than a general repair shop, some work that customers expect from a garage falls outside our scope. We do not perform body work, tire service, wheel alignment, engine internal rebuilds, transmission work, or broad diagnostic work on systems unrelated to starting and charging. If your fault turns out to lie outside our specialty, we will tell you and, where we can, suggest the kind of specialist who should look at it next. We would rather turn away work than take on a job we cannot test properly on the bench.

Each service we offer follows the same bench method: intake and identification, a bench load and measurement stage, fault isolation, repair or rebuild, and a final proving run. The figures recorded at each stage form part of the service record for the unit. That record is what allows us to stand behind the work and to compare a future fault against a known baseline, and it is one of the main reasons customers choose a specialist bench over a general parts swap.

4. Bookings and Appointments

You may request a bench slot through the contact form, by email, or by telephone. A booking request is not confirmed until we acknowledge it and agree to a time. We may need to reschedule appointments because of parts availability, workload, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to inform you of any change and to offer an alternative slot.

Please arrive at the agreed time or arrange delivery of your unit as agreed. If you miss an appointment without notice, we may release the slot to another customer. Repeated missed appointments may affect our ability to reserve future slots for you.

5. Estimates, Quotes, and Authorization

We provide estimates based on the information available at the time and on our initial bench findings. An estimate is not a fixed price unless we say so in writing. Faults that are hidden until a unit is opened can change the scope and cost of the work. If the actual cost is likely to exceed the estimate by a material amount, we will contact you for authorization before proceeding.

Where you have authorized a maximum amount, we will not exceed it without your further consent. Authorization may be given by email, telephone, or in person and will be noted on the job record. You are responsible for charges incurred before you stop work, including diagnostic time already performed.

A starter or alternator that arrives with a clear complaint often reveals a second, related fault once it is opened on the bench. Worn brushes frequently sit beside a scored commutator, and a failed diode often travels with a tired regulator. When we find additional faults that affect the reliability of the finished unit, we will explain them, show the readings that support them, and let you decide how far you want the repair to go. We will never quietly expand a job beyond what you authorized.

If you decline a recommended repair, we will return the unit in the condition we received it, subject to any work already performed and to payment of the diagnostic and reassembly charges recorded on the job card. We will note on the record that the additional fault was identified and declined, so the history of the unit is clear to anyone who works on it later.

6. Diagnostic Work and Testing

Our bench process begins with measurement. We test a unit under load, record the figures, and use those figures to isolate faults. Diagnostic work takes time and expertise even when no repair follows. Diagnostic and testing charges apply whether or not you proceed with a repair, because the measurements are the work.

Some faults are intermittent and may not appear during the time a unit is on the bench. We test thoroughly and may run extended hot-soak or load cycles, but we cannot guarantee that an intermittent fault will reproduce. If a fault does not reproduce, we will report what we found and what remains uncertain.

For starters we record no-load spin speed, current draw under load, and solenoid pull-in and hold behavior. For alternators we record output at several shaft speeds and test each rectifier diode on its own, because a single failed diode can ripple the output while the average voltage still looks acceptable. For ignition coils we measure primary and secondary resistance and then run the coil up to operating temperature, since many coils pass a cold test and fail only when hot. For batteries and cables we load test the battery and measure voltage drop on the heavy runs, because a failed ground or a swollen lug can imitate a dead starter and lead to a repair that was never needed.

These measurements are recorded on the job card and travel with the unit. If you later experience a related fault, the recorded baseline lets us tell quickly whether the unit has changed behavior since it left the bench. For fleet customers, the same records build a picture across vehicles and model lines over time, which is what makes planned maintenance possible instead of reactive repairs.

7. Parts, Rebuilds, and Reconditioning

We use matched parts and quality components in our repairs and rebuilds. Where an original manufacturer part is unavailable, we may use a suitable alternative and will explain the choice to you. Rebuilt and reconditioned units are tested on the bench before release and are tagged with the recorded figures.

Unless we state otherwise in writing, replaced parts become our property once the repair is complete, and we may dispose of them. If you want old parts returned, please tell us before work begins so that we can set them aside. We are not responsible for parts left behind after a reasonable period following collection.

8. Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind our workmanship. Unless stated otherwise in writing, our repairs and rebuilds carry a limited workmanship warranty for a period of twelve months or a mileage and usage limit that we will specify when you collect the unit. The warranty covers defects in our workmanship and in the parts we installed because of those defects.

The workmanship warranty does not cover normal wear, damage from accidents, overheating, water ingress, incorrect installation, abuse, neglect, unauthorized repair by another party, or faults in unrelated systems. It also does not cover a unit that has been altered or that was misdiagnosed by another shop before arriving with us. To make a warranty claim, contact us with the original job record and description of the problem.

A rebuilt starter or alternator depends for its long life on the health of the rest of the starting and charging circuit. A weak battery, a corroded cable, or a failing ignition switch can shorten the life of even a properly rebuilt unit. Where we identify such conditions during the work, we will point them out and recommend correction, because a repair that ignores the surrounding circuit is likely to come back. Following those recommendations helps the warranty do its job.

Warranty service is performed at our Calgary workshop. Removing a unit for warranty inspection and returning it is the responsibility of the customer unless we agree otherwise. Where a warranty claim is accepted, we will repair or replace the affected workmanship at no charge for our labour on that specific repair. The warranty is not a guarantee that a unit will last forever, and it does not extend the life of parts that were not part of our original work.

9. Your Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information about your vehicle, your unit, and the symptoms you have observed. Inaccurate information can lead to missed diagnoses and unnecessary work. You agree to remove personal belongings and valuables from a vehicle before leaving it with us, and to disclose any modifications, prior repairs, or known safety concerns that might affect the work.

You are responsible for complying with the law in relation to your vehicle and for any permits, registrations, or requirements that apply to it. You are responsible for arranging collection or delivery of your unit within a reasonable time after we notify you that work is complete.

10. Payment Terms

Payment is due on collection unless we have agreed credit terms in writing. We accept the payment methods described at the shop. Diagnostic charges are payable even if you decline a repair. Late payment may attract interest and may affect our willingness to release a unit or to provide further services.

If you fail to pay for work performed, we may retain the unit until payment is made, to the extent permitted by applicable law. We may also take reasonable steps to recover amounts owed, including by referring the matter to a collection agency or by pursuing legal action. You are responsible for reasonable costs of recovery.

11. Storage and Abandoned Units

We store units and vehicles for a reasonable period after we notify you that work is complete or that work has been declined. Storage beyond that period may attract a daily charge, which we will tell you about in advance. If a unit remains uncollected for an extended period after notice, we may treat it as abandoned and dispose of it in accordance with applicable law, after making reasonable attempts to contact you.

We are not liable for loss or damage to a unit arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control while it is stored, including theft, vandalism, fire, flood, and severe weather, except to the extent caused by our negligence.

12. Acceptable Use of the Website

You agree to use the website lawfully and in accordance with these terms. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or its systems, interfere with its operation, introduce malicious code, scrape content at scale, or use the website to send spam or unlawful communications. You must not misrepresent your identity or your affiliation when contacting us.

We may suspend or restrict access to the website, with or without notice, if we believe that access is being misused or that the security or integrity of our systems is at risk.

13. Intellectual Property

The content of this website, including text, layout, graphics, and the design of its pages, is owned by or licensed to Ignition Now Inc. and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal and business reference connected with our services. You must not copy, republish, sell, or redistribute the content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Brand names and trademarks that appear on the website remain the property of their respective owners. References to third party products do not imply any endorsement or affiliation unless we state so explicitly.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The website and its content are provided on an as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, in relation to the website and any general information it contains. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error free, or free of harmful components.

Information on the website is general in nature and may not apply to your specific vehicle or unit. You should rely on the direct diagnosis we perform on your unit rather than on general content when making decisions about repairs.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ignition Now Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of use, or loss of data, arising out of or in connection with the website or our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability in relation to any claim arising out of our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific work that gave rise to the claim, except where the law does not allow such a limitation. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ignition Now Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the website, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party in connection with your vehicle or unit.

This indemnity survives the end of your relationship with us and continues to apply to claims that arise after your unit has been collected or your use of the website has ended.

17. Events Beyond Our Control

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, power outages, supply chain interruptions, labour disputes, epidemics, government action, and failures of third party services or transport networks. If such an event occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to resume performance and to keep you informed.

Delays caused by such events do not excuse either party from obligations that can reasonably continue, and do not give rise to liability for the period of the interruption.

18. Termination and Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website or decline to continue providing services if you breach these terms, if we cannot safely complete the work, or if circumstances make continued engagement impractical. Where we terminate an engagement, you remain responsible for charges for work already performed and for collecting your unit within a reasonable time.

You may end your engagement with us at any time, subject to payment for work already performed and to any storage obligations relating to a unit still in our possession. Terms that by their nature should survive termination, such as those concerning payment, liability, and intellectual property, will continue to apply.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Before commencing formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us so that we can attempt to resolve the matter directly and in good faith. Many concerns can be resolved quickly through a conversation about what was found on the bench and what was done to correct it.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, our practices, or the law. When we make a material change, we will update this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. The version in force at the time you engage our services governs that engagement.

Your continued use of the website or our services after a change takes effect indicates that you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the website and contact us if you have a unit in progress.
